Harry Newton in our new Funk Step Cap

We had a fab time in London last week buying new fabrics from Brixton Market to add to our Ankara collection for Autumn/ Winter 2019. So much inspiration, colours, cloths, food, fabrics and quirky design ideas.

We went to the newly refurbished Brixton Village which is full of great independent stores and food places- so good to see local designers and entrepreneurs thriving in this little hub. We are seriously thinking to do a Pop Up shop on the run up to Christmas as we think our caps would go done a storm.

We travelled to Kew to meet our amazing brand ambassador Harry Newton who works voluntarily with our business to look at new areas of engagement. He had some fantastic ideas in developing relationships with micro breweries and sports teams. We had a lovely lunch with him, showed his the new collection samples and we cant wait to share some of the up & coming collaborations we are working on.

We then went to Liberty London where we did some market research about other brands and who is doing what in the industry. It was shame that in the 5 shops we visited in London we couldn’t find ANY caps that were not made in China, Bangladesh or Turkey. The branding and price point would lead you to believe they are British Made however if you look closely, usually in tiny writing you can see that they are actually all made overseas. We were disappointed that somewhere which appears to champion British quality didnt have any British made caps. Maybe there a market for KM there?!
